Album Labels

Hey there Storykeepers,

I posted on the Redheaded StoryKeeper FB page a question about labeling albums so I wanted to show you the solution I came up with.

Scrapbook Albums

As you can see none of my albums are labeled. I’m still trying to decide if I will be labeling the post-bound albums or not. There are a few that I’m going to replace because they have fallen apart. Don’t buy cheap albums! They won’t stand the test of time. When I started scrapbooking over 20 years ago you were limited to post-bound or hinge strap albums and most were 8.5 x 11. Today, scrapbooks come in all sizes and varieties. My most used size is the standard 12 x 12. I also have grown to love the 6 x 8 size for smaller projects like December Daily.

So this is what I came up with.

I created an Adobe Illustrator file and made myself a template. I used one of the blank white labels as my guide. The dimensions are 2 3/8″ x 1 1/4″ You could easily make the same template in Cricut Design Space or Silhouette Studio. I created mine in Illustrator because I want to be able to download it. The artboard is 8.5 x 11 so I can use this file in many ways. I could simply save it as a PDF and print and cut it with my trimmer, I could save it as a PNG and upload it to Design Studio and use print and cut as a sticker or cut it out using permanent vinyl. When designing in Illustrator with text be sure to turn the text into vectors by creating outlines.

I chose to print them on 80 lb cardstock and cut them out on my trimmer. The edges don’t have to be perfect so uploading them to Design Studio wasn’t necessary! I think they turned out great! The font is Social Gothic Soft and it’s part of the hundreds of fonts from AdobeFonts.

Thanks for stopping by!
