Faithbooking

Hello Story Keepers,

I hope you are well and enjoying the summer. I have spent the last 5 weeks taking my daughter Faith back and forth to Montclair State University for a Summer program that provided Incoming Freshmen a chance to experience college life and take 2 classes. It was completely free but had no housing on the weekends so I had to pick her up on Thursday and take her back on Sunday. It was worth all the time spent in the car for her to gain insight and confidence in this new chapter of her life! I’m so proud of her!!

Now I get to relax a bit so, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to explore something that I’m very passionate about, Faithbooking. I’ve been a scrapbooker for over 20 years and, I’ve made so many types of albums, but the ones I hold dear are the ones where I’ve documented my faith. Found within those pages are important reminders of God’s love for me. Also inside the pages are prayers and testimonies of the goodness of God. Faithbooking allows me to document the details of my walk with God that I can look back on.

The Story

The first step of any themed scrapbook project is to focus on the story you want to document. In Faithbooking, it’s not so much about the photos you may include but the prayers, family stories, and testimonies you will include. Many of my pages are without pictures at all they include handwritten or typed journaling, relevant scriptures, and embellishments that help tell the story. Creating the page around the story sounds intimidating, but it’s not. Type your story and print it out. You now have a journaling box that you can use as a placeholder and create the rest of the page around it. If you intend to use your handwriting be sure to allow extra space so all of the journaling will fit. You can also make pockets or flaps to add more personal journaling discreetly.

Want to learn more? I will be posting more info about a class I will be teaching very soon! Be sure to shoot me an email using the contact me on my website to add you to my newsletter where you will get all the details about upcoming classes.

Stay stafe!

Kim
